Matilda first came to us in a terrible state, with thick clumps of matted fur all over her emaciated body. After being shaved to make her comfortable, blood tests revealed this little old lady was also diabetic, and would need insulin injections every 12 hours for the rest of her life. More recently, she has also developed kidney issues and been switched to a renal diet. Because of the special care she needs, and the difficulties with rehoming such a delicate cat, Matilda now lives on a permanent foster basis with the cattery manager. She has her own armchair with a nest of blankets and a hot water bottle, and knows her daily routine well – she will happily jump onto the cattery manager’s knee, and sit ready for her insulin, in exchange for some cuddles.
Sponsoring Matilda will help with the costs of her medication, special diet, and blood/glucose tests.
