Molly. She is the sweetest affectionate cat. She arrived on 1.5.19 because her owner has dementia and has gone into hospital. She is hyperthyroid and needs daily medication. She needs extra special care and a very special home. She is perfectly friendly but an adult home where she can just mooch about would be best. She has been in foster with our cattery manager but she had to bring her back in to take a more urgent case home. Molly is really fed up in the cattery.
7.5.19 This is Molly. She is the sweetest affectionate cat. She arrived on 1.5.19 because her owner has dementia and has gone into hospital. She is hyperthyroid so has had a blood test today so we give her the correct level of medication. I need extra special care and a very special home. I am perfectly friendly but an adult home where I can just mooch about would be best for me. The Sanctuary hope I get a home very soon.
September was a sad month for the cattery. Just a week after losing our sweet Princess, we also had to say goodbye to Molly.

Due to her old age and ongoing health problems, Molly was our longest waiting cat, and I don't think anyone ever asked to meet her. She spent some of her time in the special care unit, but most of it in foster at my house. She was a bossy, confident character with a loud purr and an even louder meow. She had a special set of steps so that despite her shaky back legs, she could still climb onto my bed and sleep on her favourite place, my pillow.

Princess and Molly were never adopted, but they had a home with us, and were loved very much. Sleep tight, my beautiful girls.

13.8.19 This is Princess. She arrived today. She is an 8+ year old tortoiseshell. She is beautiful. She seems fine until you stroke her and realise she is painfully underweight with all her spine showing. She has come in as an unwanted stray. This week has severely tested our patience. For the love of God, how do you just abandon a friendly cat like this to waste away. This cat is lovely. It's heartbreaking.

We just wanted to thank you. We only had Teddy for 12 months but he was a superstar and much loved addition to our family.
He became very unwell about 8 weeks ago and despite the efforts of our vet we lost him. Two devastated children and a very sad family. Sandra x
Sandra, we are very sorry for your loss. Thank you for lovinghim. Tracey x
This is Bill (was Bobby). I photographed him when he arrived from Bosnia on 23 December 2014. Unsurprisingly he was homed by the 27th December! I recently made friends with Donna, the lady who rescued him off the streets of Sarajevo. She will be very happy to see these amazing photographs of him living life to the full! This is what his owner Rachel had to say about him...He's the best dog ever, it's like owning a celebrity , everywhere I go people shout 'hey look , hi Bill, come quick everyone here comes Bill!'.....I wrote this in 2015 when this photo was taken. Sadly Bill passed away a few weeks ago. He was very much loved by Rachel for 4 1/2 years and will be much missed.

Hi - We got our dog from you about 13 years ago and it was the best thing we ever. We got Max a white staffy with a black patch on his eye,who we loved so so so much. Sadly Max passed in June (11th June) from kidney failure at the age of 13. I just thought I'd send a message to let you know as he was a firm favourite when we got him from you all those years ago. Anna, we are very sorry for your loss and thank you for giving him a loving home all these years. Tracey x
In January 2005 my world changed, as Carla Lane gave me the opportunity to take home a beautiful cross lab girl. We became the best of friends, in fact, she was my doggy daughter and we did EVERYTHING together. I was known for always being with my dog. We went camping, festivals, road trips, days out anywhere, walked in every park and shared so many precious memories and tasty snacks. I have been blessed to have had such a loving dog. She was true lady and at times, a cheeky monkey. She loved her teddies and she had quite a selection!!!
My gorgeous Rosie died due to liver failure almost three weeks ago now. I’ll never be the same but I have to thank Carla Lane for being a great rescue and holding that puppy just for me and giving me the best present any human could ask for. An unbreakable bond that we have even now. As I know her spirit still walks with me at the beach and next to me on the couch of an evening. Thank you for changing my life. Here are some pictures to show how amazing this girl was and still is in spirit❤️❤️❤️ Kate x
On 13/11/2005 Akon (crazy boy) came to live with us, he turned the house upside down 🙂. On Thurs 08/08/2019 he gained his wings and went to Rainbow Bridge. Karen x
Thank you to the Jones family for giving him 14 years of love. He was 15 when he passed away x
In memory of Mr Jonty
Mr Jonty (previously John) came into our lives on 16th June 2013. He was 5 years old and 35kg, a big, big staffie!
We'd never had a dog before and it took us a while to get to know one another and some of his habits were quite challenging, like swallowing a whole jellyfish on our first walk on the beach and erupting! He was partial to any kind of poo for a snack - horse, dog, his own and others, sheep and quite often he'd have a few snails from the garden! When we took him to our allotment he then tucked into potatoes, onions etc so consequently the smell from the other end was overpowering, especially when we were away in our caravan!
But after a while we had a mutual respect. We often went to Steam Fairs and he came 2nd in "The Most Handsome Dog" at one of the Dogs Trust events.
He loved going away and the three of us have travelled all over the UK. He adored riding in the back of the car - just like a lord! After many walks and lots of ball chasing, his weight dropped to 25kg but he could still bowl us over.
We often wondered if we'd done the right thing but we stuck through it. We've had a very interesting and varied 6 years with Mr Jonty and grew to love him very much, he was certainly was a "one off".
It was really sad when we found out about his heart contdition about a year ago, so we took things at a slower pace.
On the 26th July 2019 Jonty passed away... We were both devastated and heartbroken, but ever thankful that he came into our lives and brought us so much happiness, fun and love.
We miss him so, so much...
From Barbara and Gordon, Jonty's Mum and Dad.
Our baby my angel taken too soon
Thanks for your help and getting our baby from you. John & Jeanette xxxx
This is Blue and he passed away at the beginning of 2019...Little boy was with us for two and a half years and a joy to have. He was wonderful with our two cats and a friend to my guide dog Wendy who arrived a few months before he went to the rainbow bridge. He had liver and spleen cancer. So glad we were able to give him a happy time in his final home. Thank you Blue play with your friends over the rainbow bridge. Jean xx
12 years of our life, the day we went to look at you, you were an insane jumpy puppy, and we knew we had to have you! Since then you gave us the most amazing 12 years. You went on so many adventures. Thank you Carla Lane for allowing us to find the perfect dog to love, sleep tight Milly, we miss you. Jess and family xx
Thank you for giving her a wonderful home for all these years. Tracey x
Rudi came in to us this May. He was a 1 year old French Bulldog who had had an epileptic fit and was on medication. His new family adored him and he had no fits with them until today, when he had a massive fit and passed away on the way to the vets. His family are devastated. He had continued to receive his medication and shown no signs of being unwell at all until today. We are so very sad for his family.
Ruby, one of our rescued girls. She had 11 yrs with the Lea family she was adored and will always be remembered. RIP sweetheart x
