Do we have volunteers?

Yes, we are very pleased to have new volunteers, as we are wearing the old ones out! You do not have to commit to a regular time slot, just come when it suits you. Our grounds are quite muddy in the winter so always best to wear warm and sensible clothing and wellingtons or similar footwear. You will be asked to fill in a short volunteer form so we have your details or submit the form below. (Volunteers need to be 16 and over, any younger must be with an adult but may be restricted to walking dogs and sometimes there won’t be many suitable dogs for a younger person).

We have volunteers who walk dogs, (some volunteers befriend a long termer and regularly walk the same dog, which is lovely for the dog), volunteers who spend time in the cattery giving the cats some fuss, we even have a volunteer who likes to come and do some gardening for us. We also have volunteers who help us with fund raising. This may be at street collections or Pets at Home or at our quarterly Fair & Fun Dog Show. If you would like to help with any of our collections please let Caroline know when you complete your form. We have also had some volunteers recently who have offered to collect donated goods from supporters who have no transport. We currently have a volunteer who has offered to knit blankets for us for the dogs with an enormous quantity of wool that was kindly donated to us. We also have a volunteer who takes photos of the new entrants and puts their albums on Facebook. You are most welcome to take photos of any dogs that you walk and add them to our Facebook page with any comments you may like to make about them. One of our new volunteers has started doing this and it is good to have an ‘unbiased opinion’ of our dogs from a ‘stranger’ to the dog. It all helps build up a reliable picture of the dog for anyone who is interested in adopting them. Photographs from volunteers fussing the cats would also be welcome.

So all in all you can see that our volunteers are many and varied and we simply would be a lot poorer without them.

So whatever you are good at doing or like doing, we are happy to make use of your talents!
